As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing the data pipelines that facilitate data movement in service of our mission. Your work will focus on implementing and testing methods that improve data reliability and quality, while championing leading practices in the field.
In this role, you will reduce manual data work and improve productivity by employing innovative tools, techniques, and architectures to detect patterns and automate common data preparation and integration tasks. You will guide the team toward a cloud-first modern data architectural direction, ensuring standards and best practices are consistently adopted. Additionally, you will anticipate data governance needs, working with committees to ensure data modeling and handling procedures comply with applicable laws and policies.

Knowledge of health care operations. Exposure to agile/scrum. Ability to work in a hybrid cloud environment consisting of on premise and public cloud infrastructure. Expertise in Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), optimizing and tuning SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and triggers. Expertise in Python (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, etc.) and Jupyter notebooks for exploratory data analysis, machine learning, and process automation. Expertise in CI/CD, continuous testing, and site reliability engineering. Expertise in Microsoft Azure applications (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Purview, Databricks/Spark, Power BI, PowerApps). Expertise in event streaming tools (NiFi, Kafka, Flink). Expertise in data processing tools (Apache Sqoop, Spark, Hive). Expertise in Document or NoSQL datastores, particularly MongoDB. Expertise in Power BI data models using advanced Power Query and DAX. Expertise in AI/ML Ops. Interest and desire to contribute to emerging practices around DataOps (CI/CD, IaC, configuration management, etc). Ability to influence without authority and thrive in an ambiguous environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in quantitative field required with 4+ years experience; Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Software acceptable as alternative.
