The Surgical Technologist (CVOR) serves as a vital member of the surgical team, working under the direct supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive procedures. This role is dedicated to ensuring the operating room environment remains safe, equipment functions optimally, and the operative procedure is executed under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Surgical technologists in this position combine expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques with a deep knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures. By implementing advanced tools and technologies, you will directly support physicians in performing both therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.
At Novant Health, we are committed to creating a meaningful human experience for both patients and our team members. We encourage courage by fostering an environment where innovative ideas are shared to improve care delivery. You will be expected to round on patients, creating meaningful connections and keeping them informed about visit details, delays, and wait times.
We strive to model "Always Event" behaviors, viewing feedback through the patient lens to ensure every interaction is positive. Our team values diversity and inclusivity, recognizing the unique differences and similarities among colleagues and patients. We believe in explaining all processes in plain language and utilizing "teach back" methods to ensure understanding. Above all, we live by our people credo: a passion to care for each other, our patients, and our communities.
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus plus relocation assistance. Candidates who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or do not currently hold certification must obtain certification within 12 months of hire. New graduates and intern program graduates must successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing, including clinical skill/competency assessments.
We look for individuals who demonstrate effective customer service skills, strong verbal and nonverbal communication, and the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The role operates on a schedule of four 10-hour shifts, typically from 6:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
