About the Role

As a Cashier, you are the face of Walgreens, responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will engage with customers and patients by greeting them warmly and offering assistance with products and services. Your goal is to resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression.

You will serve as a role model for customer service best practices, sharing interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, and courtesy with all team members. By embodying Walgreens service traits—such as offering help proactively, identifying needs, and servicing until satisfied—you help create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the door.

Day in the Life

Your day involves registering sales on an assigned cash register, collecting cash, and distributing change efficiently. You will process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed while maintaining a courteous, friendly, and fast pace. Beyond the register, you will recommend items for sale, including trade-up and companion items, to enhance the customer's purchase.

You will also play a key role in store operations by keeping counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised. This includes constructing and maintaining displays, completing resets and revisions, and assisting with the separation of food items and product placement according to company policies. You will utilize the first-in, first-out method for stock rotation and assist with inventory management.

Additional responsibilities may include providing customer service in the photo area, handling digital passport photos and promotional products, and managing web pick-up responsibilities by monitoring orders in Picture Care Plus and delivering them to customers. You will also assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure the store remains clean, neat, and orderly.

Hiring Process & Application

Candidates must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours. While six months of retail experience and prior work experience with Walgreens are preferred, we welcome applicants with a passion for customer service.
