Customer Service

Position Purpose

Customer Service and Sales Associates are the frontline of our store, dedicated to providing fast, friendly service by actively engaging with customers to assess their needs. In this role, you will learn our product tools and processes to guide customers through selecting and purchasing entire projects. You will master the art of greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales within your specific department, while also gaining a working knowledge of adjacent areas.

Beyond sales, you play a vital role in maintaining the in-stock condition of your assigned areas, ensuring they remain clean, shop-able, and safe. Safety is a shared responsibility; you will be expected to follow all safety policies, complete required training, and immediately address or report any hazards to the Manager on Duty. Your actions help create a safe working and shopping environment for yourself, co-workers, vendors, and customers.

You will work cooperatively with Department Supervisors and associates across various departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Depending on your specific strengths and the store's needs, you may serve in various capacity types such as Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, or Customer Order Specialist.
