The Custodian 1, Head serves as a vital leader within the Hillsborough County Public Schools district, dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students and staff. In this capacity, you will oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned teams. Your day-to-day impact involves interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing work. You will be the face of custodial operations, ensuring that all facilities are secure, well-maintained, and ready for the school day. From managing complex lawn programs and minor facility repairs to supervising staff performance and resolving complaints, this role requires a blend of hands-on leadership and operational expertise.

Candidates selected for this position must successfully complete the Florida School Plant Management Association (FSPMA) professional custodial training program. Furthermore, successful completion of the Custodial Operations Career Advancement Training program through Hillsborough County Public Schools is required.
