The Registered Nurse serves as a vital member of our Neurology team, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual patient care on the nursing unit. This role is designed for professionals dedicated to the continuum of care, ensuring that every patient receives personalized attention that reflects their unique physical and psychosocial needs.
In this position, you will function as a preceptor to new staff and step into the Charge Nurse role when required, delegating and supervising unit activities to maintain a high level of service. You will collaborate closely with the healthcare team, involving patients and families in the development of care plans, and demonstrate specialized competency in neuro assessment, airway management, and the care of patients with tracheostomies or on ventilators.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in electronic patient records and the ability to utilize internet resources for literature searches regarding patient care. The role requires a valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License and BLS certification.
