About the Role
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on a nursing unit or department according to unit policies and procedures. This role involves providing supervision of non-RN personnel on the assigned unit and may require assuming the charge role to delegate and supervise unit activities. The position may also require working on other nursing units based on the distribution of staff and patients.

- check_circleDemonstrate competency in neuro patient care, assessment, and airway management
- check_circlePlan and provide patient and family education based on assessed learning needs
- check_circlePerform pharyngeal, endotracheal, and tracheostomy suctioning according to policy
- check_circleAssist physicians and care for patients during special neuro procedures
- check_circleDevelop, communicate, and document individualized plans of care with the healthcare team
- check_circleFunction as a preceptor to new staff members
- check_circleProvide care for patients on ventilators and in halo braces
Requirements
- verifiedGraduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- verifiedBSN preferred
- verified1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required
- verifiedValid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- verifiedBLS required
- verifiedProficient in use of computer software including Electronic Patient Records
- verifiedAbility to use Internet for literature searches
