When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives. As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues, and our communities. More than 35,000 people working together—nurses, doctors, technicians, therapists, researchers, teachers, and more—are making a difference in patients' lives every day. Your skill and compassion can make us even stronger.
The Medical Assistant provides high-quality, direct patient care in a team-based model to our BILH Primary Care-Mt. Auburn patients. This role is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient administrative and clinical practice operations. You will work with people from different backgrounds, respecting the beliefs of all patients and team members, while reporting to the Practice Manager.
In this position, you will contribute to patient, practice, and organizational goals through relationship development and care team coordination. You will develop long-term empathetic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Your day will involve facilitating timely patient flow, engaging with patients on their visit reasons, updating medication and allergy lists, and acting as a liaison between patients and practice staff to ensure optimal service delivery. You will also serve as a key communicator, providing clear hand-offs to providers regarding visit reasons, abnormal vitals, and patient stories.
Beyond direct patient interaction, you will be essential to population health efforts by leading conversations to meet quality goals through outreach and health coaching. You will monitor practice activity, identify patients with health maintenance or chronic disease management needs, and conduct necessary outreach. Additionally, you will maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensure OSHA compliance, and manage patient safety practices to prevent harm.
