The Credit and Collections Specialist serves as a vital link between VGS and its 56,000 customers, ensuring high-quality, effective, and efficient service regarding natural gas operations. This role goes beyond simple bill collection; it is dedicated to helping customers find solutions that allow them to maintain their gas service. The position requires a genuine excitement for helping others, blending patience, empathy, and passionate communication to put oneself in the customer's shoes and advocate for them when necessary.
A typical day involves a dynamic mix of responsibilities, from answering incoming calls and emails to proactively reaching out to customers. The role also includes on-the-road collections, visiting customer homes to complete the collections process, working with community partners, and leveraging technology to improve overall processes. The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who is confident in troubleshooting and investigating issues, ensuring excellent service standards while soliciting feedback to maintain high customer satisfaction.

- check_circleManage the delinquent account process including mailing notices and collecting payments
- check_circleConduct on-the-road collections to collect delinquent dollars and disconnect service
- check_circleIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance the customer experience
Requirements
