Join a collaborative, conservation-focused team supporting the Dungeness Nature Alliance, a joint volunteer program between the Dungeness River Nature Center and the Dungeness/Protection Island Refuge Management Program. Our mission is to foster community engagement and environmental stewardship across the North Olympic Peninsula.
The Volunteer Coordinator serves as a vital partner to the Volunteer Manager, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the volunteer program run smoothly. This role is the heartbeat of our volunteer engagement efforts, bridging the gap between our mission and the community members who make it possible.
In this position, you will be the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, guiding them through onboarding, training, and their ongoing journey with the Alliance. You will manage the logistics of volunteer life, from maintaining accurate records and databases to coordinating appreciation events that recognize the hard work of our volunteers. Whether you are drafting communications, managing inventory for uniforms and event materials, or supporting compliance tracking, your work ensures that our volunteers feel valued, informed, and safe.
This role requires a blend of organizational precision and interpersonal warmth. You will work independently to manage schedules and priorities while collaborating closely with the team to monitor program effectiveness. It is an opportunity to contribute directly to environmental education and community outreach in a region rich with natural and cultural history.
Candidates selected for an interview will be invited to discuss their experience and fit for the role. Please note that all final candidates must successfully pass a criminal background investigation prior to hiring.
We are an equal opportunity employer. American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply for this position. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our mission of conservation and community service.
