Our Law Department provides a full range of legal advice and services, serving as a strategic partner to the business. We are building a caring community where our Counsel work on moderately complex to complex issues, requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors to protect our members and the organization.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Counsel to join our Law Department as a fully remote team member. While the role is remote, you must be located in Louisville, KY; Chicago, IL; Washington DC; Atlanta, GA; or Nashville, TN. You will provide critical legal support and guidance on counseling, with a specialized focus on artificial intelligence (AI), litigation, and e-Discovery.

In this position, you will be a strategic partner and trusted advisor on both legal and non-legal issues. A core part of your mission is to support enterprise-wide AI initiatives by assisting in the development, governance, and implementation of safe and responsible AI systems. You will collaborate across AI product developers, engineers, data scientists, and multiple business and legal teams to advise on applicable laws and manage risk. You will also draft AI guidance, strategies, and governance materials, while supporting AI litigation, regulator inquiries, and e-Discovery counseling along the entire EDRM. This role requires you to communicate with and influence business clients at all levels, including senior management, while establishing proactive and trustworthy relationships within the Law Department.

Work Environment & Requirements

To ensure effective performance, Home or Hybrid employees must have an internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connections are suggested; satellite, cellular, and microwave connections require leadership approval. Employees working from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for internet expenses. Humana will also provide appropriate telephone equipment. You must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI and HIPAA information. This is a full-time role scheduled for 40 hours per week.
