As a Food Service team member, you will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery and staff well-being by preparing and serving nutritious meals. Your work ensures that all food meets strict nutritional guidelines and safety standards set forth by department policies and procedures. From managing therapeutic diets and texture modifications to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, your attention to detail directly impacts the quality of care our patients receive.
You will collaborate closely with co-workers across all hospital departments, communicating effectively with patients, families, and the broader organization. This role requires a balance of culinary skill, adherence to federal and state food codes, and a commitment to infection control and sanitation. Whether you are managing menu logistics, monitoring food temperatures, or leading kitchen operations when assigned, you will contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and a Food Protection Manager's Certification from an accredited ANSI-CFP program (mandatory within 90 days of hire); ServSafe certification is strongly preferred. Applicants should have at least one year of experience in a quantity food preparation setting, such as a restaurant, hospital, nursing center, or hotel.
