The Department of Mental Health (DMH) assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery, sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights, and supports mental health training and research.
The Department of Mental Health is seeking an intern to support the Commissioner's Office in Central Office, Boston. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-level strategic initiatives within the state's mental health infrastructure. The intern will work directly to advance strategies that mitigate risks associated with limited system capacity by improving inpatient discharge processes. Additionally, the role involves assisting with process mapping, workflow documentation, and the development of standardized tools to facilitate process improvements. The intern will also support the re-procurement of DMH's flagship community behavioral health services and conduct analysis of client trends to inform potential programmatic changes.
