The Quality Control and Assurance Analyst in the Department of Radiology at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center plays a critical role in ensuring that radiology services consistently meet high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for overseeing the performance, efficiency, and reliability of radiology processes and imaging equipment to support accurate diagnoses and protect patient safety.
You will serve as a vital bridge between clinical workflows and administrative oversight. Your day involves minimizing interruptions to allow Radiologists to focus on their primary clinical functions while managing critical communications, such as notifying clinicians of urgent findings and handling requests from referring physicians. You will monitor turnaround times, assist in quality assurance protocols, and partner with outside facilities to facilitate second opinion read orders. Additionally, you will support the research team with clarification orders and collaborate with Imaging Informatics to ensure a robust IT infrastructure, promptly reporting and resolving application or network issues.
A key challenge of this role is balancing the demand for rapid diagnostic turnaround times with the need to maintain rigorous quality, safety, and compliance standards. You will collect and analyze data to identify trends and inefficiencies, translating them into meaningful reports for leadership to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
