Edwards Elementary School is seeking a Comprehensive Early Literacy Coach to advance literacy education within our Dual Language (English/Spanish) community. This grant-funded position is part of a district-wide initiative spanning four years, with a parallel role at Gypsum Elementary School, both focusing on early literacy for grades K-3.
The Comprehensive Early Literacy Coach serves as a strategic partner to educators, administrators, and state consultants. The role exists to enhance instructional, curricular, and assessment practices, ensuring they align with state and local standards, including the READ ACT. By co-teaching, modeling strategies, and facilitating professional learning, the coach works to improve student outcomes across diverse learning needs, including multilingual learners, Special Education, and Gifted and Talented students.
You will collaborate closely with the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), the Standards Based Learning committee, and the MTSS team to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your work involves analyzing assessment data to inform instructional decisions, coordinating professional learning opportunities for teachers, and guiding the rollout of new curricular resources. You will act as a bridge between school staff and state consultants, ensuring that literacy initiatives are responsive to the unique needs of our Dual Language environment.
Candidates for this grant-funded position will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policies applicable to licensed personnel. The selection process focuses on demonstrated instructional effectiveness, leadership skills, and the ability to promote professional growth among adult learners.
