The Senior Consumer Compliance Officer role is a critical component of our mortgage origination strategy. This position exists to manage and maintain assigned areas of the compliance program, ensuring that our business areas adhere to applicable laws and regulations. You will serve as a subject matter expert, overseeing periodic analysis of mortgage portfolios and applying a risk-based approach to mitigate compliance risks. Your work will directly support the bank's mission by ensuring that our lending practices remain robust, transparent, and aligned with federal and state standards.
In this role, you will act as a bridge between complex regulatory requirements and business operations. You will review marketing materials for products including credit cards, mortgages, and consumer lending to ensure they meet regulatory and business standards. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to managing regulatory change, monitoring legislative trends, and advising business areas on how to implement corrective actions or procedural changes.
You will also serve as a liaison with regulators, assisting with regulatory examinations and providing guidance on the interpretation of requirements. This involves developing and maintaining compliance policies, implementing risk mitigation measures, and supporting internal audits. The role requires a strategic mindset to articulate complex mortgage regulations to business teams, executives, and regulators, ensuring that compliance is integrated seamlessly into high-volume, time-sensitive operations.
