Grameen America Inc. (GAI) is a nonprofit microfinance organization founded in 2008 by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Mohammad Yunus. Our mission is to empower less fortunate women of color to become entrepreneurs and achieve financial independence. We provide micro-loans, financial education, and asset-building strategies through savings and credit building to help our members thrive.
As a Community Development Associate (CDA), you will be the face of Grameen America within your local community. Your primary focus is to grow our membership base by building and maintaining strong relationships with potential and existing members. You will lead client-oriented meetings, manage loan collections and disbursements, and deliver essential financial training sessions. This role requires a strong leader who can organize cohesive client groups, manage multiple tasks with precision, and ensure every member feels supported throughout their journey.
Your day will involve a mix of community outreach and direct member engagement. You will organize activities to spread awareness of the Grameen lending program and recruit new members to meet growth targets. Once members join, you will own their experience by communicating clearly to set expectations and build meaningful connections. You will facilitate center meetings, provide financial education on topics like credit scores and loan processes, and resolve any concerns or issues in a timely, professional manner. Additionally, you will monitor loan activities, ensure compliance with criteria, and maintain accurate records of all transactions and data entry.
We are committed to finding the right fit for our mission. Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to work independently and as part of a team, their communication skills, and their dedication to community organizing. Please note that we will adhere to all state and/or city COVID-19 vaccine mandate requirements.
Grameen America is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider all candidates for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. We strive to build a diverse team that reflects the communities we serve.
