The Collections Specialist II plays a vital role in proactively managing delinquent accounts by engaging directly with Credit Union members. This position is designed to identify potential risks and work collaboratively with members to resolve payment issues, provide tailored repayment solutions, and implement strategies that mitigate losses to the Credit Union.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members facing financial challenges. Your daily activities involve reaching out via phone, email, and text to discuss account status and uncover the root causes of delinquency. You will partner with members to develop repayment plans, loan modifications, or other solutions to bring accounts current, ensuring a consultative approach that helps improve their long-term financial outlook.
Beyond direct member interaction, you will provide critical support to the Default Management team, handling escalated collections matters and repossessions. You will maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and agreements within the core collection system while adhering to established key performance index goals. Success in this role requires a commitment to compliance with all federal, state, and Credit Union policies, as well as a willingness to take ownership of your actions and continuously seek feedback for improvement.
