About the Role
The Clinical Research Assistant (Pre-Medical Track) is an entry-level, pre-professional position designed specifically for students currently enrolled in pre-medical, pre-health, or health-sciences programs. This role serves as a structured bridge between academic study and real-world clinical practice.
In this position, you will function as a vital support system for Clinical Research Coordinators, handling essential clerical, administrative, and visit-preparation tasks. While you will not independently coordinate studies or make regulatory decisions, you will work under close supervision to gain hands-on exposure to the daily operations of a clinical research site. Your day will involve organizing study documentation, preparing visit packets, and managing patient logistics, all while observing the intricate workflows of clinical trials.
A unique feature of this role is its educational component. You will have structured opportunities to shadow Clinical Research Coordinators during study visits, informed consent discussions, and data entry processes. This shadowing provides a guided look into Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles, research ethics, and the collaborative nature of interdisciplinary medical teams.
