Mayo Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented, patient-focused Clinical Lab Technologist to join our Laboratory Services department. In this role, you will be an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, providing accurate and timely laboratory data that directly supports diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. Consistent with Mayo Clinic's primary value—that the needs of the patient come first—you will perform moderate and high complexity testing while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and integrity.
Working in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment, you will receive, verify, and process a wide variety of specimens, ensuring proper patient identification and adherence to strict labeling and handling protocols. You will perform routine and specialized testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, coagulation, and immunoassay, depending on departmental assignment. Using advanced automated analyzers and laboratory information systems, you will calibrate instruments, run quality control, validate results, and promptly communicate critical values to providers, supporting rapid clinical decision-making.
Collaboration is central to this position. You will work closely with pathologists, providers, nurses, and fellow laboratory professionals in a culture defined by teamwork, respect, compassion, and excellence. You will support Mayo Clinic's academic and research missions by assisting with validation of new methods or technologies, participating in staff training or competency assessments, and embracing continuous learning. Depending on location and assignment, limited phlebotomy or direct patient interaction may be required, always with an emphasis on empathy, clear communication, and respect for patient privacy.
Mayo Clinic offers an environment where Clinical Lab Technologists can grow professionally through exposure to complex cases, advanced testing platforms, and multidisciplinary collaboration. You will have opportunities to expand competencies, pursue certification or specialization, and contribute to innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes. By joining Mayo Clinic's Laboratory Services, you will play a critical role in delivering reliable, high-quality laboratory results that support whole-person care for every patient we serve.
