As a Charge Nurse at Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), you will serve as a vital leader in our mission to support patient care while maintaining cost-effective clinical operations. This role is designed to ensure the continuity of safe, high-quality dialysis services in accordance with all legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements. You will act as the primary decision-maker for daily shift operations, balancing the needs of patients, staff, and facility goals.
In this position, you will provide day-to-day guidance and direction to direct patient care staff, fostering a collaborative environment where safety and quality outcomes are paramount. You will serve as a subject matter expert and resource for your team, overseeing everything from patient care assignments and medication administration to emergency response protocols. Your day will involve close collaboration with the Facility Administrator, rounding physicians, and the care team to ensure that every patient receives personalized attention and that their educational needs regarding End Stage Renal Disease and dialysis therapy are met.
Patient safety and regulatory adherence are at the core of our operations. As a Charge Nurse, you will ensure strict compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and OSHA programs. You will maintain a safe and clean working environment, supervise the use of all dialysis and emergency equipment, and lead the team through start-up and shut-down procedures. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.) and hold a valid, active license in the applicable state. A minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, including 6 months of specialized clinical care for dialysis patients, is required. Additionally, certification in CPR is mandatory. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test; please note that failing this test does not automatically preclude employment, as the Company will consider reasonable accommodations.
