As a Charge Nurse at Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), you will serve as a vital leader in our mission to support patient care while maintaining cost-effective clinical operations. This role is designed to ensure the continuity of safe, high-quality dialysis treatments by managing daily decisions and overseeing the delivery of effective outcomes. You will act as the primary point of contact for the shift, balancing the needs of patients, staff, and regulatory compliance.
In this position, you will provide day-to-day guidance and direction to direct patient care staff, fostering a collaborative environment where safety and efficiency are paramount. You will serve as a subject matter expert and resource for your team, ensuring adherence to all company policies, state and federal regulations, and OSHA programs. Your leadership extends to managing staffing decisions, conducting performance evaluations, and coordinating with the Facility Administrator to address personnel and patient care status.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of clinical oversight and administrative coordination. You will assess daily patient care needs, distribute assignments, and monitor patient conditions throughout dialysis treatments. As the leader on duty, you assume primary responsibility during emergency situations, ensuring rapid and appropriate responses. Additionally, you will play a key role in patient education, helping patients and families understand End Stage Renal Disease, dialysis therapy, and medication management.
