Founded in 1894, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a premier settlement house on the East Side of Manhattan, serving 16,000 people annually. We provide an extensive array of integrated social, educational, health, housing, and nutritional services to clients ranging from ages 3 to 103, including older adults, unhoused individuals, children, families, and persons with disabilities.
We are the leader in New York's nonprofit farm-to-institution movement, serving 250,000 healthy, delicious, and culturally responsive meals each year. Our mission extends beyond feeding; through our Teaching Kitchen, we train other nonprofits to transform their food service programs to a farm-to-institution model without raising costs. This initiative aims to improve the health of individuals dependent on government-funded meals by increasing access to fresh, local food, strengthening regional farms and economies, and enhancing environmental sustainability.
We are seeking an innovative, ambitious, and mission-driven Chef Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Chef & Director of Culinary Programs, you will work closely with the Food Services, Teaching Kitchen, and Facilities Teams to improve our daily food operations and systems.
In this role, you will oversee the management of our institutional kitchen and lead the development of culturally responsive, farm-to-institution recipes that are scalable for large-scale service. You will play a pivotal part in expanding community meal outreach initiatives and ensuring our operations align with our commitment to food equity and social justice. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, highly social community environment and is dedicated to transforming food systems for the betterment of our neighbors.
At Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, we value respect, diversity, and integrity. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to affording equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, or protected veteran status.
