Our Labor and Delivery department operates within a Level I Trauma Hospital, serving a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric patients. We are dedicated to providing safe, effective, and compassionate care across a wide spectrum of surgical services, including Vascular, Cardiac, Neurosurgery, Robotics, Spine, Orthopedics, and General Surgery, among others. Our mission is to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence while fostering a collaborative environment where Registered Nurses and Surgical Technicians work in seamless partnership.
As a Surgical Tech in our operating rooms, you will play a vital role in the surgical team, assisting with the provision of safe and effective care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Your day-to-day involves more than just instrument handling; you will be an active participant in clinical decision-making, scrubbing at the operative field, and managing the sterile environment for complex procedures. From setting up tables and maintaining sterile fields to assisting with patient positioning and specimen care, your contributions ensure the smooth flow of surgeries across multiple specialties.
You will also serve as a preceptor to new team members and collaborate closely with the sterile processing department to ensure instrument turnover and safety. This role requires a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging patients to participate in their own care and identifying potential risks before they become issues. Whether assisting with urgent/emergent procedures or managing the intricate logistics of a robotic surgery, you will be the backbone of the sterile team.
We offer competitive shift differentials to recognize the demands of our schedule: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. Compensation is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, education, and organizational needs.
Candidates selected for this role must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and be a graduate of a Surgical Technician program. Essential credentials include Certification of Surgical Technologists and CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire). Bilingual skills in Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are highly valued. Please note that tuberculosis testing is required upon hire and as needed thereafter.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring a supportive environment for all team members.
