About the Role
As a Surgical Technologist within the Operating Room (BBRP), you will play a vital role in delivering safe and effective nursing care at a Level I Trauma Hospital. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will serve as a key member of the sterile team, assisting surgeons across a diverse range of specialties including Vascular, Cardiac, Neurosurgery, Robotics, Spine, Orthopedics, and more. Your work ensures the seamless execution of surgical procedures for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric adults.
This position offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where you will manage the full lifecycle of the operating room, from gathering and setting up specialized equipment to maintaining sterile fields, assisting with patient positioning, and handling instrument decontamination. You will collaborate closely with the nursing team in clinical decision-making and may serve as a preceptor to support professional growth. The role requires a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging active participation from patients and continuously seeking opportunities to improve protocols and processes.
Shift and Compensation
This is a Part-Time (0.05 FTE) PRN position working Days. To support our team's availability, the role includes shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, and organizational needs.
