The Maintenance Control Representative serves as the operational hub for aircraft maintenance, coordinating and monitoring all actions necessary to restore aircraft, material, and equipment to a serviceable condition with maximum efficiency. This role is critical to the mission, requiring the authority to direct work centers and personnel to execute specific maintenance actions. The position acts as the primary liaison between maintenance teams, quality assurance, and government oversight, ensuring that daily flight schedules and ground test requirements are met through precise management of maintenance tasking and material status.
In this capacity, you will release aircraft for safe flight, monitor maintenance documentation via the NALCOMIS system, and review aircraft weight and balance forms for accuracy. The role involves briefing aircrew prior to Final Checkout Flights (FCF), reviewing performance documentation, and managing complex logistics such as requesting cannibalization authorizations, coordinating depot-level inspections, and establishing supply priorities. A deep understanding of the Navy Working Capital Fund concept is essential to effectively manage awaiting maintenance and material statuses while maintaining strict T/M/S aircraft configuration standards.
Candidates must possess a valid U.S. Secret Clearance and be a U.S. Citizen. The position requires availability to work any shift and may involve travel. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate extensive background in aircraft maintenance and material support, specifically within the context of the VX-31 Maintenance Control billets.
