The Aircraft Painter is a critical member of our aviation maintenance team, dedicated to restoring and protecting rotary-wing aircraft. This role goes beyond simple aesthetics; it ensures the highest quality finishes that contribute directly to the appearance, corrosion protection, and overall performance of helicopters. You will work in a fast-paced environment where precision and adherence to OEM standards are paramount.
In this position, you will be the guardian of the aircraft's exterior, transforming raw surfaces into durable, mission-ready finishes. Your day-to-day involves a blend of technical craftsmanship and rigorous quality control. From the initial sanding and masking to the final inspection of the paint scheme, you will interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints to execute precise color specifications and livery applications. You will also play a key role in the team's success by supporting refurbishment and modification projects, ensuring that every aircraft meets strict FAA regulations and military contract requirements.
Beyond the paint booth, you will be an active participant in the team's operational flow. You will collaborate closely with lead painters, technicians, and engineers during daily briefings and pre-job planning sessions. As the team evolves, you will also take ownership of project management tools like SmartSheets, helping to drive best practices and efficiency across the department. Whether mentoring junior apprentices or coordinating with other departments to meet tight delivery timelines, your professionalism and reliability are essential to our shared goals.
