As a Direct Support Professional, you will be the bridge between independence and support, helping individuals navigate their daily lives with dignity and respect. Your day will involve more than just completing tasks; it will be about building trust, fostering socialization, and encouraging personal growth.
You will work within a residential setting or periodic program, supporting a small group of individuals. Your role is dynamic, ranging from assisting with personal care and medication administration to accompanying individuals on community outings, shopping, and recreational activities. Whether you are preparing a meal according to specific dietary needs, managing household maintenance, or simply sharing a conversation that brightens someone's day, your presence is vital to their well-being. This role is designed for those who find purpose in service and are eager to grow alongside the people they support.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to undergo a comprehensive background check, including a review of the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI). All new hires must successfully complete mandated state training and certifications. Additionally, employees hired after June 15, 2018, are subject to pre-employment drug testing, with random and for-cause testing continuing throughout employment. Those in roles requiring transportation must maintain a valid driver's license and meet specific Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards.
