This position is the heartbeat of the cafeteria experience at Avera McKennan Hospital. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of customer service across the cafeteria, cashier island, dish room, deli, dining room, and vending areas. Your day involves ensuring a welcoming atmosphere by managing inventory, replenishing hot and cold foods, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room, patio, and equipment.
Beyond operations, you serve as a guardian of safety and compliance. You will monitor food temperatures, maintain records for health department and Joint Commission standards, and ensure all areas meet Serve Safe protocols. You will also handle cash operations, including reconciling drawers and securing daily banks, while documenting any unusual situations or incidents. Your role is critical in delivering excellent customer service using established scripts and supporting catering functions with assembly and cleanup.
This is a regular position based at Avera McKennan Hospital in the United States. The role operates on a Day Shift schedule, specifically Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The schedule follows an 80-hour cycle over two weeks, which includes every other weekend and holiday coverage.
