About the Role
The Assistant Manager Trainee is a pivotal role responsible for establishing and maintaining exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of the convenience store. This position goes beyond daily tasks; it is about driving maximum sales and profitability through strategic management of merchandise, inventory, and operating costs. You will be accountable for the entire store ecosystem, including gas pumps, ensuring that every customer receives outstanding service in a friendly environment.
In this role, you will manage employee performance, control shrink and expenses, and maintain superior operational standards. You will ensure that merchandise stock levels are optimal, perishables are fresh, and the selling floor is fully stocked with appropriate signage. A key part of your day involves training staff on company policies, handling money procedures, and preparing accurate daily activity reports and fuel surveys. You will also be expected to cover open shifts, travel to support district staffing needs, and remain available to meet fluctuating store demands.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be able to qualify for and obtain necessary licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. This includes obtaining a Non-Gaming card, Gaming Registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, a Valid Health Card, and a Valid Alcohol Awareness Card. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
