About the Role
As a School Bus Driver, you are the first point of contact for our riders, ensuring their safe and comfortable journey from home to school and back. This role goes beyond driving; it requires a commitment to observing rider behaviors and environmental conditions to proactively detect any safety threats. You will be responsible for operating hydraulic lifts, securing wheelchairs and adaptive equipment, and following specific rider programming procedures to support those with unique needs.
Your day involves maintaining strict adherence to Ohio licensing laws, state regulations, and Pupil Transportation safety rules. You will manage attendance reporting, perform daily vehicle inspections, and maintain a clean, sanitized environment for all passengers. In addition to scheduled routes, you may assist with field trips, deliver materials to student homes, or support classroom settings and other direct service providers as needed. Building positive relationships with families, teachers, and staff is central to your success in this role.
