MalaceHR is seeking a Building Engineer to support our manufacturing site in Tualatin, OR. This role is critical for maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient operational environment for our team and clients.
The Building Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for facility maintenance, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general systems operate smoothly. You will manage a mix of preventive maintenance and responsive repairs, handling everything from HVAC coil cleaning and filter changes to interior office upkeep like furniture repair and lighting replacement. The position requires a hands-on approach to daily inspections, identifying potential issues before they impact operations, and collaborating closely with the operations team to keep the facility running at peak performance.
This is a Monday-Friday, 1st shift role (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with on-call availability for emergencies. The role demands physical versatility, including lifting up to 80 lbs, working at heights, and navigating adverse weather conditions. A valid driver's license and a commitment to defensive driving are essential, as the role involves moving equipment and materials across the site.
Safety is the top priority in this position. You will be responsible for conducting hazard assessments, maintaining rigorous housekeeping standards, and ensuring full compliance with all state, county, and city ordinances. You must actively recognize safety hazards and propose effective elimination methods while adhering to strict protocols for the storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have 1–3 years of experience in general building repair, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work. The successful candidate will be physically capable of climbing ladders up to 30 feet and performing various physical tasks required in a manufacturing setting.
