About the Team
A Barnes & Noble bookstore serves as a gathering place for readers and the community. As a Bookseller, you are an integral member of the bookselling team at the heart of our stores, working alongside colleagues who hold themselves and each other to high standards of behavior and service.
About the Role
You will welcome customers in a cheerful and helpful way, answering questions and connecting readers with the right titles and products. You are essential to maintaining the attractive presentation of the store and ensuring its efficient running, from unpacking and shelving deliveries to tidying displays.
As you gain experience, your bookselling knowledge and skills will develop. You will build expertise across fiction, nonfiction, children's books, educational toys, games, and media. This knowledge allows you to maintain sections effectively, make personalized recommendations, and support key sales objectives like Monthly Picks and memberships. Above all, we expect you to enjoy being a bookseller. As you demonstrate mastery of these skills, you are expected to advance to the next step in the career path: Senior Bookseller, where you will take on new challenges and gain further opportunities for growth.
