By joining the American Red Cross, you become a vital part of the world's largest humanitarian network. It is an experience where you touch millions of lives every year and witness the greatness of the human spirit. Our team is composed of welcoming, exceptional, and diverse individuals who are uncompromising in their unity. We are a movement that matters, where success is measured by the people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to change lives for the better.
When you choose to be a force for good, you align your life's work with a mission bigger than yourself. You will grow your career with mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful path. We care for our team members as much as they care for others, respecting who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work.
As a Blood Storage & Distribution Technician, you will be the guardian of life-saving blood products and samples. Your role involves receiving, processing, packing, and shipping these critical items for hospital orders. You will triage orders based on urgency, carefully selecting and packing products with the correct temperature-regulating equipment to ensure safe transport.
This position requires close communication with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors, as well as maintaining precise product records to preserve traceability. You will ensure products are suitable for release while meeting production goals, managing inventory throughout the manufacturing and shipping process, and making data-driven decisions based on visual inspections. You may also be assigned to make hospital deliveries. As a team member, you are expected to show up for every shift, give 100% effort, and interact with a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner.
The training for this role is intensive and required for the first four weeks. Training takes place Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and full attendance is mandatory. Successful completion of this training is essential to begin your career as a technician.
