As a Red Cross Team member, you will play a vital role in manufacturing blood products and samples. Your work begins the moment units are received from donors, where you will process them into transfusable components such as red cells, platelets, and plasma. This involves scanning units, performing leukoreduction, and executing complex manufacturing tasks like pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, deglycerolizing, and pathogen reduction.
In this position, you will be the backbone of our production line, ensuring quality and quantity goals are met while maintaining accurate documentation. You will manage inventory, operate specialized computer programs for labeling and storage, and make critical decisions based on visual inspections and data from other departments. Your work directly supports hospitals and patients in need, requiring you to interact with internal and external customers in a positive, proactive, and compassionate manner.
Being a Red Cross Team member means taking care of your colleagues. We expect every team member to show up for every shift and give 100% effort while on the job. Success in this role requires good communication skills, the ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision, and a strong attention to detail.
Our organization works with partner companies to source qualified talent for open roles. This position is specifically available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. If you have the required skill set, education, and experience, please submit your application to follow the next steps.
This role is On-Site at the location detailed in the job post. The standard schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. However, flexibility is required to work a variable schedule that may include weekends and holidays to meet the needs of our hospitals.
The role involves physical activity, including standing, stretching, stooping, and bending for extended periods. You may be required to lift, pull, push, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Additionally, you may work in walk-in refrigerators or freezers and wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, and face shields.
