About the Role

The Bilingual Plant Chaplain serves as a vital pastoral care resource for Millwood Team Members and their families. This role is designed to provide spiritual support through counseling during times of stress or grief, leading worship services, intervening in crises, and ministering to all individuals. While the position is grounded in Christian principles, it is inclusive and not restricted by Team Member denomination.

In this part-time capacity (10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with on-call availability), you will act as a representative of the faith, conducting and monitoring faith-based activities while maintaining a healthy professional relationship with regional chaplains and leadership. The role requires a blend of advanced biblical knowledge, strong consulting and social skills, and the ability to manage behavior in direct support of the company's foundation. You will also provide operational support when practical and maintain designated worship and chaplain activity spaces.

Language and Cultural Context

A critical component of this role is the ability to serve our diverse workforce effectively. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. You must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, as well as effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public.

The work environment may vary by location, potentially including extreme heat or cold, variable terrain, and noise levels. Occasional use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection may be necessary. This role is based in Cleveland, TN, and requires in-person presence.

Hiring Process and Application

Candidates must be willing to travel upon request and possess the ability to commute to the Cleveland, TN location. While one year of pastoral experience is preferred, the primary focus is on the ability to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and demonstrate patience, tolerance, flexibility, and empathy.
