About the Role
We are a growing manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Engineering & Automation Leader to drive plant operations, automation initiatives, and long-term facility growth. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of plant leadership, automation engineering, and process improvement, serving as the internal technical expert for production equipment and controls systems.
As the company prepares for the arrival of new production equipment and plans for future operational expansion, this position is critical to ensuring operational scalability. You will bridge mechanical, electrical, and automation functions, overseeing everything from equipment installation and commissioning to the optimization of industrial automation systems. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead automation and engineering efforts for manufacturing equipment and production systems
- check_circleSupport installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new production equipment
- check_circleProgram, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, controls systems, and industrial automation systems
- check_circleAnalyze production data to improve equipment performance, uptime, and scalability
- check_circleTrack motor life cycles, equipment inputs/outputs, and production capabilities
- check_circlePartner with vendors and equipment suppliers during implementation and startup activities
- check_circleEvaluate current manufacturing capacity versus future operational needs
- check_circleSupport process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles
- check_circleOversee equipment quality, maintenance coordination, and operational efficiency initiatives
- check_circleAssist with airflow, heat management, utilities, and facility infrastructure planning
- check_circleServe as a technical resource for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
- check_circleDrive a proactive, continuous improvement culture within the plant environment
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- verified10+ years of experience in manufacturing, plant engineering, automation, controls, or industrial operations
- verifiedStrong PLC programming and industrial controls experience
- verifiedExperience with automation systems, electrical systems, and production equipment integration
- verifiedUnderstanding of high-voltage electrical systems within industrial/manufacturing environments
- verifiedBackground in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, process improvement, and operational efficiency
- verifiedCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship assistance
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience supporting equipment installations, capital projects, or facility expansions.
