Tufts Medical Center's Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Disease is a leader in scientific advancement, particularly in the realm of tick-borne disease research. Since Lyme disease was first described in the United States in the 1970s, Tufts has remained at the forefront of this field. The Tufts Lyme Disease Initiative comprises 19 faculty members and over 50 members, all focused on the study of tick-borne diseases. This unique hybrid role blends academic medicine, inpatient care, teaching, research, and community-based clinical practice. The position is designed for an Attending Infectious Disease Physician with a strong interest in tick-borne illnesses, specifically Lyme disease.
You will work across an integrated model that combines academic inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at Tufts Medical Center with community-facing care at Melrose Wakefield Hospital and the Stoneham clinic. This structure offers a rare opportunity to collaborate across academic and community environments while caring for a broad and diverse patient population. The role is integral to supporting Tufts Medicine's mission through clinical excellence, education, research, and community engagement.
