About the Role
As an Assistant Store Director, you will serve as a vital leader within the store, playing a key role in empowering associates and solving problems through critical thinking. You will work directly under the Store Director to manage all store functions, ensuring the team operates smoothly and efficiently.
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing specific departments including Grocery, HBC, wine and spirits, bread, books, magazines, greeting cards, and tobacco. Your day-to-day involves training new team members thoroughly, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure a stable, qualified workforce, and maintaining a disciplined, non-offensive work environment. You will also handle conflict resolution, manage sales and labor metrics, and assist with daily operational tasks such as ordering, returns, and merchandising.

Physical Requirements
This role involves medium work that requires good corrected vision and hearing. You must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 60 lbs, exert 25-60 lbs of force frequently, and handle 10-20 lbs constantly. The position requires dexterous use of both hands, the ability to stand and move between various workstations, and the capacity to push, pull, and stoop. You will also need to safely use knives and other sharp instruments for food preparation and product handling, often working on floors that may become slippery.
