The Assistant Deputy State Fire Marshal plays a vital role in the statewide administration of fire and life safety programs, specifically focusing on Fire Sprinkler, Fireworks, and Fire Safe Cigarette initiatives. This position serves as a compliance program specialist, assisting in the enforcement of key laws and providing technical expertise to ensure public safety across the state.
As a key member of the Education, Enforcement, and Analytics Section, you will act as a bridge between state regulations and local jurisdictions. Your day-to-day work involves conducting routine investigations, interpreting complex statutes and codes, and offering consultation during the complaint intake process. You will also serve as a technical expert, processing licensing applications and recommending improvements to data collection systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and delivery of fire safety curriculum, coordinating training events and presenting programs to diverse groups, including residential fire sprinkler demonstrations and fireworks safety workshops.
This role reports directly to the Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal and is integral to the mission of reducing fire risks and ensuring compliance within the state.
The Fire Prevention Division is actively engaged in providing a wide array of fire protection services. These include risk mobilization, inspections of licensed care facilities, plan reviews for schools, hazardous materials training, and the licensing and certification of the fire sprinkler, fireworks, and cigarette industries for both public and private sectors.
