Lap of Love is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to provide compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care for companion animals. In this field-based role, you will conduct home visits, create comfort-focused care plans, administer sedation and euthanasia, and guide families through end-of-life decisions with empathy and clarity.
Supported by a dedicated administrative team, you'll focus on meaningful, unhurried medicine with flexible scheduling and strong work–life balance. This position exists to ensure that every pet receives dignified, high-quality care in the comfort of their own home, allowing families to navigate the difficult journey of end-of-life with support and understanding.
Your day will be defined by the unique rhythm of field practice. You will travel to clients' homes to conduct thorough physical exams, review histories, and develop individualized comfort-focused care plans. Beyond clinical procedures, a significant part of your role involves offering empathetic guidance to families on quality-of-life, prognosis, and end-of-life decision-making.
You will document visits and treatment plans accurately using electronic systems and provide teleadvice and follow-up support to ensure continuity of care. While you will manage your own medical supplies and safety standards, you will collaborate closely with the Lap of Love support team to handle scheduling, routing, and client coordination, allowing you to focus entirely on the patient and the family.
We uphold Lap of Love's mission, values, and culture of empathy, respect, and work–life balance. We believe in providing a supportive environment where veterinarians can practice medicine without the constraints of a traditional clinic setting, fostering a deep connection with the animals and the people who love them.
Ideal candidates have small-animal clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for compassionate end-of-life care. We invite you to apply to join a team dedicated to making a profound difference in the lives of companion animals and their families.
