Assistant Store Leader

About the Role

This position serves as a vital partner to the Store Manager, sharing responsibility for the performance of all store operations and human resources. The role is designed to learn the intricacies of every department while ensuring the store's reputation for best-in-class customer service is maintained. You will act as a role model for the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety, fostering an environment where associates are engaged and customers are prioritized.

In this capacity, you will assist in leading teams to plan and execute merchandising and operating initiatives. A key part of the day-to-day involves analyzing the competitive landscape, developing action plans to address store opportunities, and ensuring the implementation of division merchandising plans. You will also serve as a liaison between the store and district managers, ensuring that operational programs are effective and that associates are equipped with the necessary information to succeed.

The role requires a proactive approach to community engagement, promoting strong relationships with local organizations, and, where applicable, building productive relationships with union representatives. You will be expected to manage total store operations in the Store Manager's absence, driving sales and profits while reducing shrink and improving departmental contributions.
