About the Role
This position serves as a vital partner to the Store Manager, sharing responsibility for the performance of all store operations and human resources. The role is designed to ensure the store runs smoothly in the manager's absence while fostering a culture of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. You will act as a bridge between leadership and associates, helping to translate strategic goals into daily actions that drive sales, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience.
In this role, you will work closely with department heads and associates to identify opportunities, develop timely solutions, and execute merchandising and operating initiatives. A key part of your day involves analyzing financial performance, managing labor and supply costs, and collaborating on action plans to meet weekly, period, and annual targets. You will also play a crucial role in building relationships with the local community and, where applicable, union representatives, ensuring the store remains a positive force in its surrounding area.
