Assistant Manager

About the Role

As an Assistant Manager at BFS Foods, Inc., you will partner with the General Manager to oversee the entire store operation. Your mission is to maximize store efficiencies while ensuring the highest standards of product quality, sanitation, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as the Senior Management Person in the absence of the General Manager, requiring you to take decisive actions in the best interest of the store, its employees, and the company's operational guidelines.

Day in the Life

Your day is defined by a dynamic blend of leadership and hands-on execution. You will ensure the seamless flow of store activities, from managing labor allocation and scheduling to overseeing the ordering, receiving, and rotation of products. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to cultivating a positive store culture by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, ensuring they adhere to food safety procedures and deliver top-tier customer service.

You will also be deeply involved in the operational backbone of the store, including inventory control, cost management, and maintaining strict sanitation standards to pass local and state inspections. Whether you are adjusting build-to levels in the POS system, preparing daily bank deposits, or stepping in to cover shifts, your focus remains on driving performance and maintaining a safe, efficient environment for both staff and guests.

Work Environment

This position requires active participation in all aspects of store operations. You must be prepared to work unscheduled hours and be available for any shift to cover management absences. The role involves physical demands such as standing for extended periods, working in freezer and cooler environments, lifting heavy items, and operating various equipment. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and direct teamwork across shifts.
