This position serves as a central technical expert and process guide for aseptic liquid processing and packaging across all Kroger Manufacturing food plants. The role exists to drive the company's "Customer 1st" strategy by ensuring the highest standards of Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR) in our aseptic operations. You will embody the 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles and lead with the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
In this capacity, you will function as a key contributor to the development of Kroger Manufacturing's aseptic product strategy. Your day-to-day involves creating detailed engineering and design plans for a diverse range of products, including dairy, juices, blended products, viscous concentrates, and pastes. You will be responsible for optimizing, troubleshooting, and maintaining existing aseptic manufacturing lines to enhance quality, productivity, and safety while managing multiple projects involving manpower, budgets, scheduling, equipment, and materials.
The role requires a proactive approach to innovation. You will evaluate and present current and new equipment and technologies, conduct feasibility studies, and perform cost-benefit analyses. Additionally, you will participate in industry tradeshows and technical conferences to identify emerging technologies applicable to the Kroger Company. A critical aspect of the job is incorporating personnel safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements into all solutions, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local engineering codes.
You will support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of SQF Systems and remain accountable to Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles. The position involves independent travel as needed and requires the ability to work safely around ingredients and finished products known to contain food allergens.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in the food manufacturing industry with a strong preference for dairy or beverage. Capital project management experience greater than $1MM. Knowledge of other liquid food and beverage processing technologies including extended shelflife (ESL), ultra clean, and hot fill. Proven experience in food safety, hygienic design, aseptic, beverage, dairy, and juice design standards.
