About the Role
The Area Executive Director (AED) – Hospice serves as a strategic leader across multiple hospice branch locations throughout New Mexico. Acting as a vital liaison between Branch Executive Directors and the Area Vice President of Operations, this role ensures alignment with organizational goals while driving clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong financial results.
This position is designed to foster growth and strengthen leadership capabilities at the branch level. The AED ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered end-of-life care consistent with organizational values. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct oversight and support to multiple branch Executive Directors
- check_circleStandardize processes and ensure consistent execution of policies and best practices
- check_circleMonitor operational metrics and implement performance improvement initiatives
- check_circleDrive financial performance including census growth, revenue targets, and expense management
- check_circlePartner with finance to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and productivity benchmarks
- check_circleEnsure all locations meet federal, state, and accreditation standards
- check_circlePromote a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality outcomes
- check_circleCoach, mentor, and develop branch Executive Directors and emerging leaders
- check_circlePartner with sales and business development teams to drive strategic growth initiatives
- check_circleLead initiatives such as acquisitions, de novos, integrations, and service line expansions
- check_circleBuild strong relationships with physicians, referral sources, and community organizations
- check_circleEscalate and resolve complex operational or patient care issues
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or related field
- verifiedMinimum of 5–7+ years of leadership experience in hospice or healthcare operations
- verifiedValid driver's license and proof of insurance
- verifiedCurrent license to practice nursing (preferred)
- verifiedMaster's degree (MHA, MBA, or related) (preferred)
- verifiedGraduate from an accredited registered nursing program (preferred)

Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program with a current license to practice in the state. Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related). Multi-site leadership experience.
