This position serves as a multifaceted Advanced Practice Provider within the MDC department, functioning as a practitioner, mentor, consultant, educator, researcher, and manager in inpatient and urgent care settings. The role is designed to establish goals and priorities that align with patient needs, staff requirements, and organizational objectives.
You will provide comprehensive care across the entire lifespan, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Your day-to-day involves assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans, performing physical exams, and managing complex patient care through admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning. Beyond direct patient care, you will act as a clinical resource, precepting nurses and physician assistant students while fostering a culture of safety and ethical decision-making.
As part of the Advanced Practice Providers team, you will collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and counseling staff to ensure continuity of care. This role emphasizes a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging active patient participation in their own treatment and driving improvements through research and the application of current clinical findings.
Candidates must hold an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse degree and possess a valid New Mexico Advanced Practice Nurse License (CNP, CNS, or CRNA) with Prescriptive Authority. Essential credentials include BLS/ACLS/PALS certification and DEA certification. Preference is given to candidates with bilingual capabilities in Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, as well as those with a specialization in the applicable area.
