The AOG Travel Mechanic is a hands-on role built for an experienced professional who can troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and coordinate aircraft maintenance at both base and remote locations. This position is critical for AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery and special projects, where speed and precision are paramount.
AOG work is not slow work. It demands judgment, technical depth, and clear communication, requiring you to make high-stakes decisions when the clock is not on your side. You will serve as a technical leader, executing repairs on company aircraft, interpreting complex blueprints and schematics, and providing guidance to entry-level mechanics and on-site contract personnel on basic tasks and troubleshooting.
This role supports operations in Miami, Florida, with regular travel required for AOG recovery and special projects. Candidates must be local to Chicago, Illinois, Miami, Florida, or Cincinnati, Ohio, or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates.

Boeing series aircraft experience (737, 777, 747-400, 747-800 Gen Fam) with RII authorization, unrestricted engine run qualifications on 737, 777, and 747 aircraft, formal training on advanced systems and avionics for 737, 777, and 747 aircraft, and borescope qualification on CFM, Pratt Whitney, or GE-90 engines.
