Collins Aerospace presents an exciting career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team, supporting the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program. We are dedicated to developing the next generation of precision landing products and providing crucial support to existing fielded systems.
This entry-level position is located on-site in Fullerton, California. You will work closely with some of the greatest minds in the industry, collaborating on hardware design and hands-on unit and system testing. Your day-to-day will involve integrating equipment and lab setups, designing and building prototypes with mechanical and electrical components, and conducting unit and system-level testing in a lab environment. You will also research components, assemble electronic rack assemblies, design cable and harness assemblies, and create electrical schematic diagrams and engineering documentation.

Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscope, function generator, digital multimeter, voltage regulator, and analog to digital converter. Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electrical system schematics, including unit/cable pin-out tables. Experience with circuit design. Comfort with testing units and systems in a lab environment. Familiarity with researching specifications for commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) components. Experience creating electronic schematics using Microsoft Visio. Experience with soldering. Experience building electronic rack assemblies with units and cables. Experience interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines (Software, Systems, Mechanical). Familiarity with cable assemblies for power, data, and RF. Knowledge of standard cable/harness connector types. Familiarity with communication interfaces and bus standards (e.g., SPI, I2C, PCIe, UART, VME, VPX, or Gb Ethernet). Familiarity working with antennas, radios, amplifiers, power supplies, servers, routers, and processors.
