JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). As an Electronic Technician II, you will specialize in ground-based electronic systems, working directly on various types of electronic equipment and related devices. In this role, you will combine installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, modification, construction, and testing to ensure operational readiness. You will apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, and test equipment, diagnosing malfunctions to restore equipment to required operating conditions.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include operating and maintaining electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers, high-voltage power supplies, and antenna positioning systems. You will interpret computer displays, troubleshoot to the component level, and perform necessary repairs, including soldering and working with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and high-power radio frequency (RF) devices.
This position requires flexibility to work shift schedules at remote locations, including occasional overnight assignments. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may involve working on even or uneven surfaces, which can be dry or wet, and may include gravel or shingled roofs. You must be prepared to climb stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, and lift up to 50 lbs (heavier items require assistance or mechanical aid). Grease or oil may be present on working surfaces.
